The display model is a replica of the Boeing F-15E Strike Eagle. The Douglas F-15 Eagle is considered one of the most powerful twin-engine air superiority fighters in the world today. Since its maiden flight in July 1972, this record-breaking Mach 2.5 fighter has set the standard for jet fighter design. In the early 1980s, the Air Force tasked McDonnell Douglas with converting their F-15 fighter into a dual-role aircraft, known as the F-15E "Strike Eagle," to be used both as an air-to-air fighter and for ground attack missions. This new version was designed to penetrate deep into enemy territory without escort and precisely strike military targets.
