The Toyota GT86, which was released in April 2012, is a lightweight sports car with a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout. This sports coupe was jointly developed by Toyota and Subaru, with Subaru releasing the GT86 under the name BZR. Powered by a 147 kW (approximately 200 hp) 2.0-liter boxer four-cylinder engine equipped with Toyota's D-4S direct injection technology, this four-seater is based on a modified Subaru platform from the fourth generation Impreza.

The Tamiya 1:24 scale model kit faithfully reproduces the dynamic form of the sports car, including the engine bay, underbody with suspension and drivetrain parts, as well as numerous other authentic details. The metal-plated headlights and taillights provide a visual highlight.
