The standing model is a recreation of the P-51D K Mustang Pacific. The P-51D Mustang featured advanced features such as a laminar flow wing and an efficient cooling design. The P-51D was originally equipped with a Hamilton-Standard propeller, but a shortage of propellers led to the installation of Aeroproducts propellers on some P-51Ds built at the North American plant in Dallas. These were designated as P-51Ks. Most P-51Ks served in combat in the Pacific, although some were also sent to Europe.
