The remote control allows easy control of the CarMotion vehicles on the system as well as simple settings on the vehicle. To do this, the remote control is pointed at the front of the vehicle where its infrared sensors are located. Distances greater than approx. 50 cm from the vehicle require a more precise alignment of the remote control to the vehicle, up to 1 m is possible under favourable circumstances. It is therefore suitable for influencing vehicles locally - driving on sight, so to speak. A vehicle can be started with it - even from an active stop coil - and stopped at will. Furthermore, the vehicle speed and existing functions on the vehicle - such as the lights, the indicators, etc. - can be set. For these basic configurations, the vehicle does not have to be connected to the programming device. The remote control also supplements the control of the vehicles by means of the magnetic arrangements under the roadway - thus complex sequences are possible with additional intervention by the user.
