The version G was the most produced variant of the Pzkpfw V Panther and replaced the version A in production from 1944. The chassis had been designed more cheaply and further improvements were continuously incorporated into production. Vehicles of the final version had a.o. a modified engine deck and a modified roller cover. With its 7.5 cm chariot cannon 42L / 70 and bullet-repellent shapes, the panther turned out to be a dangerous opponent. The V-12-cylinder Maybach HL 230P30 gasoline engine with a maximum output of 700 hp enabled the 44,800 kg Panther Ausf. G to reach a top speed of up to 55 km / h. The crew consisted of five men.
