In October 1944, the Shinano was launched, one of the largest aircraft carriers of World War II. The construction of the massive ship of the Yamato class began shortly after the Japanese defeat at Midway and was completed in November 1944. The total length of the Shinano was 266 meters, with a displacement of 62,000 tons. It inherited strong armor from the Yamato, as well as a reinforced flight deck capable of withstanding a direct explosion from a 500 kg bomb. On its way to the fitting-out dock, the Shinano was discovered and torpedoed by an American submarine before its first deployment, and shortly thereafter, it capsized off the shores of Shionomisaki.

Based on the assembly guide, the precise individual parts must be assembled together. Painting of the parts can be done according to personal preference.
Tools, adhesive, and paints are not included in the plastic kit package. These must be purchased separately.
