After the start of the Second World War, the Royal Navy built eight destroyers of the O class and eight more of the P class as part of the wartime emergency program. The first ship of the O class, the Oribi, was commissioned on July 5, 1941. The ships mainly served in the North Sea and were particularly active as convoy escorts. The detailed model kit offers the option to equip the models with either 12 cm guns (O class) or 10.2 cm dual-purpose guns (P class). Details such as depth charge throwers or anchors are also faithfully reproduced. The TAMIYA kit includes a decal sheet with British flags.
