The scale model is a recreation of the Supermarine Spitfire Mk.VIII. There are many variants of the iconic fighter aircraft named Spitfire MK.V, but one of the most prominent versions was the MK.VIII. This model featured several improvements, such as fuel tanks in the wings, a retractable tailwheel, shortened ailerons, and enlarged vertical and horizontal stabilizers. From the second half of 1943, the MK.VIII variant was deployed in the Mediterranean as well as in the Pacific.
