In the year 2007, Thorsten Aspetzberger laid the cornerstone for today's company with the truck platform www.Lkw-Thorsten.eu.
Even as a child, his great passion for commercial vehicles and later for model making, shone through. Out of his enthusiasm for commercial vehicles, model making, photography and the Internet came the idea for a truck portal where photos of commercial vehicles could be presented, arranged by manufacturer, company and nation. The rapid development in terms of popularity and visitor numbers made the website very attractive for the commercial vehicle industry as a modern advertising platform.
In 2007, arising out of that passion for model making and commercial vehicles, this purely hobby website became the small company Lkw-Thorsten e.U..
A new era broke
Every day came questions from many of the users of the Lkw-Thorsten.eu platform about the availability of various truck makes as miniatures. Thus, in 2013, the idea arose to establish an on-line store for truck models.
Many important factors, including IT, server structures, distribution and logistics, were thought out to the smallest detail and then tested and optimised for the model-making sector.
The on-line shop www.TRUCKMO.com was programmed and optimised with the finished concept to completely match the needs and desires of model collectors and model makers. Therefore, nothing stood in the way of the launch and the shop could be reached from May 2014 by customers all over Europe at the domain www.TRUCKMO.com.
SCALEMO.com GmbH – Structured for the future
SCALEMO.com GmbH was founded in the year 2017 in order to provide structure for the company for the future and to put it in the position of being able to grow, taking over all business activities of Lkw-Thorsten e.U..
In the course of this new company was being founded, Walter Erbler, as one of its first employees, acquired half the business shares of SCALEMO.com GmbH and is thus responsible for the management and strategic direction of the company, together with Thorsten Aspetzberger.
The goal of this new SCALEMO.com GmbH is to become a comprehensive e-commerce specialist in the wide-ranging field of model making. Thus the new on-line shop www.WINGSMO.com was founded in 2017, forming thereby a strategic extension to TRUCKMO.com for stand alone aircraft models.
